Sun, 21 September 2008 Radio Nostalgia Network, our gracious host, has switched us over to a LibsynPro account. This is supposed to allow a lot of great new functionality, but, alas, it doesn't seem to allow our new episodes to show up on this blog. This doesn't affect iTunes or other rss feed subscribers, because the rss feed is still being updated with new episodes. But those of you who were accustomed to coming here to see and hear new episodes apparently won't be able to do that any more. Don't worry, though. As we speak, the prometheusradiotheatre.com site is being overhauled, and it will feature an automatically updated index to the latest episodes from the rss feed. That should be ready in the next few days. In the meantime, our first show of the new season (posted 9/19/2008) is available here. Thanks for your continued support of Prometheus! Thu, 24 July 2008 The emails are coming in, since we've been silent for a while. No, we haven't all dropped off the edge of the earth! And thanks for checking in! It's great to know we're missed when we're gone. Steve, who expected to deliver a new Arbiters show in June, has been hammered both by work and by the aforementioned new Arbiters show. He just didn't realize what a complex script he'd written! Qraitian invasions, world-killing terrorists, sudden death, officer exams, and, worst of all, Admiral Fournier! It ain't pretty in here, folks. So our Summer Hiatus hit a little earlier than we expected. But fear nor -- The Arbiter Chronicles - "Contents Under Pressure" is more than halfway done. We expect to have it ready for you in September. And then there's more SuperHuman Times goodness on its way, and, well, whatever else the nice people in white coats are willing to let us slip under the doors of our cells. So, as the song says, See You in September! Category: general -- posted at: 10:28 PM Comments[0] |
Mon, 19 May 2008 ![]() ... for getting ill and not being able to finish Act 3 of "Dashing" by Friday, May 16, 2008. I'm feeling better and promise to get the episode finished and posted this coming weekend. I hope you all have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend! -- Cindy Category: general -- posted at: 10:51 AM Comments[0] |
Sat, 26 April 2008 ... but not until next week. Sorry, all, but the editing process has taken far longer than I anticipated. Act 1 should be posted by this coming Friday, May 2, 2008. -- Cindy Category: general -- posted at: 11:26 PM Comments[0] |
Fri, 18 April 2008 ...we hope to bring you Act One of the SuperHuman Times episode "Dashing." Check back next Friday! Category: general -- posted at: 11:27 PM Comments[0] |
Thu, 10 April 2008 Well, it seems that the edited segments of Act 3 of Foundation and Desire are an inch and a quarter apart, instead of the one inch as mandated by the FAA. Therefore, we've had to cancel the podcast of Act 3 until the problem can be resolved. We apologize profusely for the delay and ask that you make yourselves comfortable (as best you can) in the terminal. We should have the podcast up and running in a day or so... Fri, 29 February 2008 Planet of Dark Shadows Act 3 won't be up today, sorry to say. Three very busy weeks on all fronts have cut into our editing time pretty badly. Should be up by Monday! Category: general -- posted at: 11:09 AM Comments[0] |
Fri, 4 January 2008 We really had intended to post the first part of Steve's story "The Golem and the Gypsy Girl," but two weeks shortened by the holidays didn't allow enough time. We'll be back next week with the first of three parts of that one. And, coming soon:- Planet of Dark Shadows (A Trek / DS Parody) All (finally!) full cast productions; 'cause if you're not tired of Steve's voice, he sure is!- SuperHuman Times: "Dashing" - The Arbiter Chronicles: "Foundation and Desire" Category: general -- posted at: 8:17 AM Comments[0] |

Thu, 11 October 2007 We'd hoped to end our hiatus this week, at exactly the two-month mark, but, well, y'know... life gets in the way. But stay tuned! Mon, 19 February 2007 The bad news is that the Friday 'cast didn't make it up over the weekend. I WAY overextended myself at Farpoint with two shows, running the podcasting track, and helping out at the Art Show. Never went to bed before 0400, and was sad to miss J.R. Blackwell and Jared Axelrod, who had to go home sick.
The good news is we had a BLAST hanging with Jack Mangan, Tee Morris, The Command Line, Martha Holloway and Paul Fischer, Marc Bailey and Heather Welliver. The best news of all is that I got interviews with Richard Hatch, Harve Bennett, Suzie Plakson and Ron Glass, which will be airing in the coming weeks. We'll start with Richard's, just as soon as I can put it together. Hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in there! --Steve Category: general -- posted at: 8:23 PM Comments[0] |

Tue, 8 August 2006 So, we told you that we'd be presenting a new dramatic series along with more episodes of The Arbiter Chronicles for the 2006 - 2007 season.
So, just to whet your appetite a little, here's the scoop on our new offering from Baltimore playwright Lance Woods...
PROMETHEUS RADIO THEATRE presents "Welcome to a world where powerful champions of Good protected humanity from dark forces of Evil. "A world where Good triumphed over Evil, leaving the remaining superheroes and supervillains with ... well, not much to do, actually. "These are the stories of extraordinary people with extraordinary abilities leading ordinary lives among the humans they protected, as they all find themselves ... in SuperHuman Times." SuperHuman Times gets its title from a national magazine covering this present-day world where superhumans are "only" human. For some, it's a challenge; for others, an honor; for others, a tragedy. It's not that everyone in this world has super-powers and isn't special, or that humans have taken superheroes in stride, or that those heroes are forbidden to use their powers by a government. It's just that, in this world, the superheroes did their jobs too well. They rid the world of supervillains. All of them. That's made it easier for human authorities to deal with regular criminals themselves. So, what does a superhero do in a world without supervillains? How does a superhuman find a place in human society and how do humans live with them on an equal footing? Can they? The first SuperHuman Times story, "True North," introduces readers to this world -and how it came to be -through the eyes of Howard North, an ordinary working stiff who's just been told that his late parents had super-powers. So, why doesn't he? Why has the son of two superhumans been a completely normal, human "freak" throughout all of his unremarkable life? He's about to find out ... Among the other people we'll meet in future SuperHuman Times stories... - A family of sorceresses/security experts whose magic may not be enough to prevent someone from committing "the perfect crime." - A fast-healing action film star who gets a chance to prove his true acting talent when he assumes the role of a nerdy admirer -one who's assumed the actor's debonair onscreen personality. -A Times columnist who pursues the story of a successful human gallery artist as she attempts to break into an industry that superhumans have practically taken over: comic-book publishing. -A professor cursed with the ability to not only speak with the dead, but to speak for them -at their funerals, with devastating results. -Two superhuman arch-enemies who must join forces to find a missing psychiatrist -and the secrets he carries about his many superhuman patients. -A team of human TV "legendbreakers" that attempts to prove/disprove the validity of such superhuman urban myths as. "Can you really gain super-powers from [insert terrestrial or cosmic radiation of choice here]?"* -A human detective whose latest client is an indestructible woman who wants him to find whoever's trying to kill her. -And, hopefully, many more, because, like the motto on the magazine says - "Everyone's story is a story for our Times." Fri, 21 July 2006 For those who missed the announcements on our weekly show, Prometheus is taking a brief hiatus while we develop material to begin airing this fall. Don't worry, though, we'll be back! We've got another live Arbiters episode in the vaults to kick off the season, featuring a celebrity guest or two, and then we'll have several studio-produced shows. AND we're kicking off a new, original series! So check us out in September! Category: general -- posted at: 8:02 PM Comments[0] |
