Radio Nostalgia Network, our gracious host, has switched us over to a LibsynPro account.  This is supposed to allow a lot of great new functionality, but, alas, it doesn't seem to allow our new episodes to show up on this blog.

This doesn't affect iTunes or other rss feed subscribers, because the rss feed is still being updated with new episodes.  But those of you who were accustomed to coming here to see and hear new episodes apparently won't be able to do that any more.

Don't worry, though.  As we speak, the prometheusradiotheatre.com site is being overhauled, and it will feature an automatically updated index to the latest episodes from the rss feed.  That should be ready in the next few days.

In the meantime, our first show of the new season (posted 9/19/2008) is available here.

Thanks for your continued support of Prometheus!

The emails are coming in, since we've been silent for a while.  No, we haven't all dropped off the edge of the earth!  And thanks for checking in!  It's great to know we're missed when we're gone.

Steve, who expected to deliver a new Arbiters show in June, has been hammered both by work and by the aforementioned new Arbiters show.  He just didn't realize what a complex script he'd written!  Qraitian invasions, world-killing terrorists, sudden death, officer exams, and, worst of all, Admiral Fournier!  It ain't pretty in here, folks.

So our Summer Hiatus hit a little earlier than we expected.  But fear nor -- The Arbiter Chronicles - "Contents Under Pressure" is more than halfway done.  We expect to have it ready for you in September.  And then there's more SuperHuman Times goodness on its way, and, well, whatever else the nice people in white coats are willing to let us slip under the doors of our cells.

So, as the song says, See You in September!

This week: Trevor Desmond gets to be Trevor Desmond again, but Chip Gardner's still Dash Tarragon, Trevor's killer is still on the loose and all of them are going to a Hollywood party. Don't miss the big finish to our Bondian whodunnit!

... for getting ill and not being able to finish Act 3 of "Dashing" by Friday, May 16, 2008.  I'm feeling better and promise to get the episode finished and posted this coming weekend.  I hope you all have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend! -- Cindy

This week: Trevor Desmond (disguised as nerdy Chip Gardner) and "Dash Tarragon" (the REAL, if delusional, Chip Gardner) race across Los Angeles to find the "missing" Trevor's would-be killer before another attempt is made on Trevor's life. That is, Chip's life. No, Trevor is Chip!. Everybody got that?

An arrogant actor with superhuman healing powers is almost murdered on-set, and his only hope of finding the culprit is a nerdy special effects tech -- who thinks he's the debonair superspy played by the actor, and is willing to prove it to solve the mystery. It's the start of our 3-part action-comedy, guest-hosted by SuperHuman Times creator/writer Lance Woods.

... but not until next week.  Sorry, all, but the editing process has taken far longer than I anticipated.  Act 1 should be posted by this coming Friday, May 2, 2008.  -- Cindy

Will the Arbiters be able to help the Andisians?  Will Deline Marchand admit her true reason for being aboard Titan?  And will Carson profess his true feelings for.... well, you'll just have to listen and find out!

Well, it seems that the edited segments of Act 3 of Foundation and Desire are an inch and a quarter apart, instead of the one inch as mandated by the FAA.  Therefore, we've had to cancel the podcast of Act 3 until the problem can be resolved.  We apologize profusely for the delay and ask that you make yourselves comfortable (as best you can) in the terminal. We should have the podcast up and running in a day or so...

This week, Cernaq makes a surprising discovery about Cami, and Carson makes an equally surprising discovery about Ehrrik.  Meanwhile, the rest of the Arbiters come face to face with survivors of the disaster on Andis III. Will they help, or will they follow orders and do nothing?

In Act One of this new Arbiters episode, the Captain is away, so Darby will play...  He escorts a celebrated businesswoman on a location scouting expedition to a world presently under quarantine.  Will Darby break the quarantine?  Will Atal catch up to them in time?  Oh, and did we mention that the lady's business is erotic entertainment?  Enjoy!

(Note:  this episode was edited, formatted and posted by Cindy Woods, so any criticisms should be laid at my feet, not at Steve Wilson's!)

Jim Kirk (Bob Hope) and Spock (Bing Crosby) meet up with the lovely Princess Shalmar (Lucille Ball) and the evil Klingon Qasim (we don't know who he is, but he's certainly unexpected!) in this parody of the classic Lux Radio Theatre and the equally classic "Road to..." films.  Recorded live at Farpoint 2008 with special guests Peter David and Marc Okrand.

Planet of Dark Shadows Act 3 won't be up today, sorry to say.  Three very busy weeks on all fronts have cut into our editing time pretty badly.  Should be up by Monday!

We really had intended to post the first part of Steve's story "The Golem and the Gypsy Girl," but two weeks shortened by the holidays didn't allow enough time.  We'll be back next week with the first of three parts of that one.  And, coming soon:

- Planet of Dark Shadows (A Trek / DS Parody)
- SuperHuman Times: "Dashing"
- The Arbiter Chronicles: "Foundation and Desire"

All (finally!) full cast productions; 'cause if you're not tired of Steve's voice, he sure is!

Podiobooks has published its Best of 2007 list, itemizing the 20 podiobooks of the past year which were most popular with listeners.  We're happy to note that our presentation of Lester Del Rey's Badge of Infamy was among the titles listed.  Many thanks to the listeners who put us there!

At Christmas time, we think a lot about traditions of the past, and about those who came before us. The group of creative people who put together a fanzine called Contact back in the 1970s are some of the forbears of today's Prometheus Radio Theatre. Many of those writers and artists directly contributed to our being where we are today.

It seems appropriate then, that we take some time right now to feature a selection from A Contact Christmas, published in 1979. Steve reads "A Gift of Gold," by Beverly J. Volker and Nancy J. Kippax.
